dittybag
A dittybag is a kit used by soldiers and sailors to carry sundry items such as sewing implements; also known in the film industry as a tool bag to hold essential gear for a shoot.
This dittybag is a series of projects that combined textiles and film to shed a modern light on mending. Directed by Kathryn Walter and Greg Woodbury, dittybag operated for three years between 2015 and 2017, and took the form of visual and media art projects, events, partnerships and an online presence with an aim to resonate in a world dominated by fast fashion in which so much stuff with so little meaning is produced in excess every day.
